The Orange Wine Festival is the busiest fortnight of the year in this town, and it is the fortnight the local houses fill first. The Dalton sleeps up to 8 across three queen bedrooms and a study with a sofa bed, so a group can take the whole house and walk out to dinner instead of splitting across motel rooms.
The Dalton is $242 AUD to $315 AUD per night. These rates cover mid-October to early November each year and are live from our booking system, last checked 16 August 2026.
The festival runs across three weekends with more than forty events between the cellar doors, and most of them end with a long lunch. A house with two separate living areas, a full kitchen and a butler's pantry means you can host a tasting back at home, cook a proper breakfast before the next day, and give eight people somewhere to spread out. October is the peak month in Orange for a reason, and two-night minimums are the norm across town.
The Dalton sits a short drive from the Orange CBD, with the cellar doors scattered through the hills around it. Philip Shaw, Ross Hill, See Saw and Swinging Bridge are all within an easy run. If everyone wants to taste, book a wine tour or a driver — Orange Wine Tours, Orange Winery Shuttle and Uncork Orange all run pick-ups, and we can point you at the ones our guests come back happy from.
October books further ahead than any other month here — roughly two months of lead time on average, and the good houses go before that. If your dates are firm, lock them in as soon as the festival program lands.

The Dalton is in Orange itself, roughly four minutes from the CBD where many festival events are held, with the surrounding cellar doors a short drive into the hills.

Two nights minimum as standard, three across long weekends. Festival weekends are the busiest of the year, so longer stays are common.
