Orange · New South Wales
8–11 October 2026
Bathurst 1000
Bathurst accommodation sells out for the Great Race, and Orange is where the overflow goes — about 45 minutes from Mount Panorama, with somewhere decent to eat when you get back. The Dalton takes a group of up to 8, which is usually the shape of a Bathurst trip.
The Dalton is $242 AUD to $315 AUD per night. These rates cover 8–11 October 2026 and are live from our booking system, last checked 16 August 2026.
It is a straight run down the Mitchell Highway to the mountain, and the trade-off is a real bed, a full kitchen and a town that is not entirely given over to the race. Two living areas means the group that wants the replay on and the group that wants a quiet drink can both get what they want.
Three queen bedrooms and a study with a sofa bed, a kitchen with a butler's pantry for feeding eight people, a covered deck, off-street parking for three cars and a laundry for four days of gear. Race weekend collides with the Orange Wine Festival and the spring school holidays, so the whole region is busy — this weekend books further ahead than any other in the calendar.
