Orange · New South Wales
Held each autumn, usually late March into April
F.O.O.D Week
F.O.O.D Week is the autumn counterpart to the spring wine festival — around a hundred events across ten days, and one of the longest-running regional food festivals in the country. It suits a house with a serious kitchen, which is what this one has.
The Dalton is $242 AUD to $315 AUD per night. These rates cover late March into April each autumn and are live from our booking system, last checked 16 August 2026.
Half the pleasure of F.O.O.D Week is what you carry home from it. The kitchen has stone benches, a full complement of cookware and glassware, a dishwasher, and a butler's pantry behind it with the extra bench space that actually matters when several people are cooking. The dining table seats six with the breakfast bar for the overflow.
Autumn is the other reason to come. The streets around the house turn properly — Orange is one of the few places in Australia that does a northern-hemisphere autumn — and the gas fireplace in the living room earns its keep on the cooler evenings. March and April are consistently among the strongest months here, so book with room to spare.
